Is it healthy for me?
A lot of people think that if a brand is “vegan” and/or “cruelty-free” then it is also automatically organic and natural too. This is not true. It’s one of the biggest misconceptions and mistake about beauty products. Not all cruelty-free and vegan makeup and skincare products are natural, clean and nontoxic.
A product which is vegan and cruelty-free doesn’t mean that its ingredients are also from organic and natural sources and it’s good for your health.
Remember, that being cruelty-free and vegan means that the company doesn’t test its end-products and ingredients on animals. Plus, it is required that their suppliers won’t test as well. Unfortunately, there are a lot of CF and vegan brands whose are using synthetic dies, fragrances, and nano sized oxides which are bad for your health. For example, you know Kylie Jenner right? She launched her makeup brand last year and her makeup line is cruelty-free. Her product’s ingredients are not clean, organic or natural.
Of course there are brands whose are CF and Vegan but also they are using only organic and natural ingredients. They mostly have some organic certification as well like USDA Organic or EcoCert.. etc.
To be honest, I support only brands that are cruelty-free and organic at the same time (except makeup brushes since they should be only cruelty-free.). For me it matters what I put on my skin. I want to support animals, animal cruelty must be stopped but the usage of toxic ingredients in products too.
